At 67, She’s Proud to Make People Say, ‘Look at That’
At 67, Debbie Allen is showing the world what’s possible. She hikes, skis, and plays with her grandson. Twice a week, she attends a boutique gym’s new Legends program — small group training designed for adults 50 and older.
“I think one of the best ways to help people is to just be that person that we all want to be,” Debbie says. “They look and say, ‘Wow, she’s 67 years old, and look at that.’”
When Debbie signed up for Medicare at 65, she shocked the agent by revealing she wasn’t taking any medications — the first person he had met who could say that. She credits her health to:
Consistent movement

Debbie’s enthusiasm helped shape the Legends program, which blends performance tracking, regular retesting, and friendly competitions like Deka Strong, focusing on real-world functional strength. This summer, Debbie ranked eighth in the nation for her age group.
“I’m not doing it to beat anyone,” she says. “I just like feeling strong.”
